Well, where to begin. Hi, I'm Angi, and I am a fan fiction beta. I've been doing this on and off for nearly six years, and I became involved in it in middle school. I used to write them, but I've found I am too much of a perfectionist to ever put anything on a site. So this is how I keep my muse satisfied! I have a small zoo of animals to keep up with in my outside of computer life. Four horses (and one on the way!), 6 German Shepherds, 2 cats, 2 fish, and an Ice Age fern that is "unkillable." I love animals, ancient history and religions, and reading everything I can get my hands on.
* Harry Potter
* Lord of the Rings
* Greek Mythology
* Women of the Otherworld
* House
* Mists of Avalon
* Neverwinter Nights
* From K to Slash, M+, NC-17, you get the idea.
* Expect a turn around time or anywhere from a few hours to four days. I actually beta very quickly, but it's talking those furry friends of mine into giving me time to sit down and do it it that sometimes gets tricky.
I am pretty much comfortable with most things you could ever put into a story. I have seen a hell of a lot of weird shit over my fan fic years. But for me it all comes down to the writer. I am completely alright with you rejecting my fixes. That is your right and privledge. However, I will not work with anyone who becomes over-obsessive about my progress, repeatedly gives me no credit for my work when the fic is published, and otherwise makes it impossible to work with them. I can quite assure you that there are other people out there who are willing to put up with your annoyances, and I am NOT one of them. I am a very flexible person and I will try to help however I can, but I have my limits. Please respect them, and we will get along very well.
Also, I always send two documents back to the writer. One is the basic fic with my edits. The other is one with an explanation at each thing I changed as to why I changed it and how you can improve this the next time you have to repeat it. Please read them. I take a great deal of time to put them in there.
One last thing. I reserve my right to end the writer/beta relationship at any time. I will gladly tell you why I cannot continue to help you, but when it is over it is over. I realize that this section is a good deal longer than the other one, and that is because you learn as you go along, and sometimes you have to avoid past mistakes.
